Meet Quentin Mezetin

I'm a father first.

Everything else follows from that.

I'm Quentin Mezetin — father of six, TEDx speaker, community leader, and founder of I AM DAD. But none of those titles explain why I do this work.

Recognized as

National Ableism Expert

The reason is simple.

I'm the father of two incredible sons with autism.

When they were diagnosed, I did what every parent does — I searched for answers. I wanted to know what therapies worked, what resources existed, and how to give them every opportunity to thrive.

The more I learned, the more I realized something unexpected.

Autism wasn't the greatest obstacle.

Ableism was.

I saw children underestimated before they had a chance to succeed. I saw families left to navigate complicated systems on their own. I saw educators, employers, healthcare providers, and even well-meaning people making decisions based on assumptions instead of understanding.

That's when everything changed.

I stopped asking, "How do I change my children?"

I started asking, "How do we change the world around them?"

That question became my life's work.

The Movement

Why I Started I AM DAD

I created I AM DAD because I never wanted another parent to feel as lost as I once did.

What started as one father learning everything he could became something much bigger.

Today, I AM DAD helps families, schools, businesses, healthcare organizations, and government agencies understand disability through a different lens.

I Am Defining Autism Differently.

I Am Defeating Ableism Daily.

Those aren't slogans. They're commitments.

"People with disabilities don't need to be fixed. The barriers around them do."

What I Believe

I believe awareness isn't enough.

Parentsneed confidence.
Schoolsneed partnership.
Workplacesneed education.
Communitiesneed leadership.

And every person deserves to be seen for their abilities before their limitations.

The Real Education

Beyond the Stage

While many know me as a TEDx speaker and advocate, my greatest education hasn't come from conferences or leadership positions.

It has come from being Dad.

Celebrating first words.

First haircuts without fear.

Medical appointments that once seemed impossible.

Moments of independence most people never think twice about.

Those experiences remind me that progress isn't measured by comparing one child to another. It's measured by helping every person reach their own potential.

Service in Action

Leadership Through Service

Advocacy doesn't end with speaking. It requires action.

That's why I've dedicated my time to serving families across New York through leadership roles in education and community organizations, working alongside parents, educators, healthcare professionals, elected officials, and government agencies to create meaningful change.

Every role I hold has one purpose: making systems work better for the people they were created to serve.

My Mission

My mission is to make ableism as recognizable as racism, sexism, and bullying.

Because you cannot solve a problem people don't know exists.

I want families to feel empowered instead of overwhelmed.

I want educators to feel prepared instead of uncertain.

I want organizations to replace compliance with genuine inclusion.

And I want every person with a disability to live in a world where opportunity isn't limited by someone else's assumptions.

This Is Only the Beginning.

My vision extends far beyond speaking engagements.

I'm building a movement.

One that changes conversations.

Changes policies.

Changes communities.

And ultimately changes lives.

Because when we remove barriers instead of creating them, everyone benefits.

Different isn't less. It's simply different.
